Culinary: Best Southern Cookbooks
By Whitney Long
When I got married, I was given a copy of Tea-Time at the Masters.  This quintessential Southern cookbook is a staple in my kitchen as well as many other kitchens across the South.   The cookbook was first released in 1974 and features over 650 recipes from the golfer’s wives including classic dishes, appetizers, desserts and drinks.
Some wonderful (and quite famous) recipes to try:The Now Famous Cheese Ring    Broccoli Casserole    Purchase the cookbook at:  www.jlaugusta.org
There are so many wonderful cookbooks produced by Junior Leagues throughout the South.  Though many are out of print, they are still worth purchasing used or contact the Junior League.
Some favorites in addition to “Tea-Time at the Masters” include:
Charleston Receipts
 Savannah Style
Chattanooga: Seasoned to Taste
New Orleans: The Plantation Cookbook
Notably Nashville
Jackson: Come On In!
